1. Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS)

Medical Laboratory Technologists (MLT)

Step 1: CSMLS Prior Learning Assessment (PLA)

• Cost: $1,400–$1,800 CAD

Step 4: CMLTO Registration (Ontario)

• After CSMLS certification, apply to CMLTO to legally practice as MLT in Ontario.

Medical Laboratory Technicians / Assistants (MLA/T)

Step 1: CSMLS PLA

• May require completion of an Ontario college MLA/T certificate.

Step 3: CSMLS Certification Exam (MLA/T)
